Fab Friday Newz - Finale???

So I am thinking of ending my FFN blog hop and focusing more on tutorials. I love FFN, but it never took off quite as much as I had hoped it would! I can sprinkle a little Fab Newz in my posts through out the week. For example, I just found another job. I've been looking for a REALLY long time. It's been a long search, but it's paid off. I know I am going to like this job. I used to work with the boss. It's dealing with people, which I totally miss. I start on Monday and I am excited, but I'm really gonna miss this.

Fab Friday Newz- long overdue!!!

I've been flaking on FFN recently, I know!  I am sorry.



Right now I am actually sick, but I thought I would just take a minute and say hey and thanks to one of my Fave Bloggers for giving me an award!

I've seen this one around a lot, and am happy to now have it displayed on my blog.  This award, like most, comes with some rules.  They are... tell 10 honest things about yourself!

1.  There are a million things I still wanna be "when I grow up"  Including a professional singer, a psychologist, a cosmetologist, a graphic designer, a culinary artist, and most importantly a mother!

2.  I miss my father daily, and I wish that I had been able to spend more time with him.

3.  My family mean the WORLD to me.  They are my everything!  I really hate that I don't live closer to them.

4.  Laughter makes my world go round.  I laugh Daily, if not every hour.  It cures my soul!

5.  I love music, it soothes me and speaks to me in ways that nothing else can. 

6. I totally dig Chinese food!  yumm, I could probably eat it every day! 

7.  I love to invent recipes, and scarcely do I exactly FOLLOW a recipe.  I generally always tweak, add, subtract, substitute or Neuffenize a recipe.

8.  I don't believe in myself as much as I should

9.  It's a dream of mine to one day sing on a Disney animated soundtrack.  Well really any soundtrack... but since I was a little girl it's always been disney!

10.  I love going to the movies!

What a fabulous Thanksgiving it has been.  Having all my family together in one place. (minus the sis, and her gorgeous children.) I managed to snatch up some cute stuff from Old Navy yesterday.  That's right.  I went shopping on Turkey day!  I bet a million people are out right now in line and shopping right now, so I am not that crazy. 

So Fab newz, I made my first bird!  Yum-o-la!  I injected it with delish creole seasoning and slapped that puppy in a bag (no mess to clean up) just a few hours later it was done!  This is MY first ever homemade Thanksgiving.  Mom or sis always cook, so it was totally fun for me.  It went really fast, of course we were only feeding 4 people so that makes a huge difference I am sure.

Another bit of good newz, my grandpa recently had a pacemaker put in.  He is doing phenomenal now.  He seems so happy and energetic.  He walks 4 miles every morning.  He used to jog, but couldn't do that anymore.  He actually had gotten to a point where he couldn't walk but a few paces without getting out of breath.  So they put in a pacemaker, and his color is better... he is back to walking... and has a bounce in his step.

So yeah, in case you missed it, ANNIVERSARY! How could that not be a Fab Friday Newz? LOVE IT! I am sooo excited. Plus New Moon comes out. LOVE THAT, can you tell I am excited?  Okay, and we are designing quite a few blogs right now.  Super excited about that.  Or So She Says is having that giveaway, if you haven't gone by and entered... 11 different chances to win.  Can I just say that I love love love designing blogs?  It's so fun, and what better way to be happy than to love what you do?  Also, mom is coming in on Saturday... My week has seriously been Fab! I have amazing pictures to share with you, per request of my poll (located at the top of my page.)  I won another giveaway!!!  Or so She Says had a fabulous giveaway with all kinds of stores and goodies as they do every month.  I won this fab ring from Stranded Treasures.

Bit of good Newz Numero Uno, my mom called me yesterday and said that she and my sister want to either pay for a plane ticket or my gas to go visit them for Christmas!!!!!  YES!  This is fabulous newz.  I hate thinking of being without them at Christmas.  I've only ever done that once before, and it was horrible.  Whit still hasn't made up his mind on his he is coming.  I guess it will depend on this..

Second bit of good newz, mom wil be here this month.  Can you tell I love my family?  I am so anxious for her to get here and spend some time with Whit and I.  And Missy!  This is my NEW family, and I want to mix them.  It's hard because mom and sis are sooo far.  I mean mom remembers Whit from HS and Junior High, but it's not really the same.  I just can't wait until it's all jelled and real FAMILY style.  Does that even make sense?

Third bit of good newz, I am designing a new bloggy design for a fave bloggy friend of mine.  It's all done on my end, just needs to be approved and made sure there needs to be no more final tweaks or adjustments.  It was so fun creating this design for her.  I will let you know when it's all finished so you can take a look. 

Another bit of fab newz, ummm thanksgiving is this month!  herlow... so stoked about that.  I get all in the cooking spirit, wanting to make all sorts of goodies.  So I made some homemade chicken and noodle soup.  Nope, no recipe... I just guessed!  It was delish!  But that is cause I made homemade noodles instead of using store bought noodles.  Yummm, it makes it soooo, homey.  Is that descriptive enough?  lol    But what about you, what tiny joys make your world go round?

Okay so my first bit of good newz is that I decided to take a stab at doing one of those vector images for Bloggy Blog Designz.  You know the super cute ones that everyone has plastered all over their blogs these days?  AKA avatars, cartoon images, etc. Well... it took multiple hours.  Afterall, I just recently got photoshop less than a month ago and have never taken an art class in my life.  BUT I am super pleased with it!  I just keep staring at it like, "I did that? Yeah, I DID that!"  So needless to say ...

Second bit of good newz, Not Sick AnYmOre!!!!  Woo Hoo!!  That really calls for a parade or something spectacular, right?  I mean a real celebration is definitely in order.  I feel like I had been sick for countless days on end!

Another snippet of good news, we made some of my super yummmmm Taco soup!  I know right, doesn't seem like much to get excited about... but it is.  Who doesn't love food?  Plus it's super easy, WAY cheap and sooooo yummm.  So yeah, it's official!  I'm gonna have to post the recipe!

On to the next bit of goodness, we rented the Neverending Story - a childhood fave of mine and Whit's!  That brought back tons of memories!  Loved it.  Laughed at parts you aren't supposed to laugh at cause of the super cheese of it all. Got scolded by Whit for "ruining the movie," but then he still loves me :)  Reminisced on the scariness that frickin wolf thing was for us as a child! Oh man it was fabulous!

As yet another week rolls around, so does another Fab Friday Newz!  I love it, good news pouring in from all my bloggy friends.  Well at least the ones who participate... As for my FFN, Whit and I got some Halloween decorations last night and plan to put them up tomorrow.  Halloween is his Favorite holiday, so he is super excited about that.  I am really looking forward to using the ice cube trays we got in the shapes of skulls and the cookie cutters.  I thought they would be really fun jello molds?!?!?  I think the spiderwebs are going to be real fun with the creeper crawlies.  Heck we  went all out at the Dollar Store.  I told you I love that place!
Another bit of good newz, I got some extra hours at work this week, which was nice.. everyone always loves and needs a little extra money... especially with today's economy.  P.S. what's with me and these ... things?  I love to use them, have you noticed?  Sorry to all those who are bothered by my very poor grammar.  I just post as my brain flows I guess.
Let's see another bit of great newz, this weekend is the Pumpkin Festival!  I have never been , but have always wanted to go.  I am pretty sure we are going!!!!  Totally stoked about that. Apparently this is like an outdoors pumpkin fall extravaganza.  Whit said... "it looks like what fall should be!"  I'm totally all for falling leaves and autumn colors, and jacket weather, and the damp breeze, so bring on the Pumpkin Festival!

A third bit of good newz, we finished Harry Potter, this could be a sad note, cuz I miss the gang... but I am proud of us for completing this task!  It was amazing how much more I gained from reading it the second time.  I love Harry Potter books.  I know I'll hush up on J.K. Rowling, I raved about her writing in my last FFN post.  hee hee

A fourth bit of good newz, we cleaned the house from top to bottom this week. Ahhhhhh, clean!  Need I say more?

Fab Friday Newz: Join the Fun!

Yep, it's that time.  I love Fridays.  For me it's the start of a super long weekend, and the day I get to share my goody goodness with you!

So let's see, this week there has been all kinds of goodness.  Ummmm, for starters... we rented X-Men last a couple of nights ago and watched that. Love it!  That movie was/ is so super good.  My man and I both love X-Men, and read the comics when we were younger- call me a nerd if you want!

We are still reading Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows and are more than half way through.  So much freakin happens in this book.  I love this series.  J.K. Rowling does such an amazing job of developing her characters.  I feel like I know them, I miss them when we put the book down, and forget that Hogwarts isn't just around the corner!  It's so hard to find a good sequel, but to find 6, oh man!  Call me a nerd if you want!

Okay, so I gave Missy yet another haircut.  She seriously looks a lil ridiculous!  I can't help it, but her fur grows sooooooo blasted fast that I wanted to cut it sooo short that I could forget about it for longer than two seconds, or a couple of weeks at least.  She was the fluffiest thing ever!  I mean it was kind of cute, but out of control.  In all seriousness, I am rather proud of my puppy cut!  She just looks silly cuz her lil legs are furry!  She doesn't like me to touch those too much.  Whit said she had "meaty" legs!  LOL

PLUS, we made caramel corn this week.  It was soooooooooo delicious!  And such a fall treat if you ask me, and you should ask me!  I will be posting the recipe soon.  It was gooey and yummy, and mmmmm.  I love caramel corn.

Oh, and my dearest friend started blogging again after months of non blogging! I love you Con!  Plus I have made new blogging friends... who I am beginning to just adore. Now it's your turn...

Also, my beau came to work with me today, which is always fun! Oh how I love him! It was great!

As you can imagine, my Fab Friday Newz this week is that I made my own button, figured out how to get the blame thing on blogger, and then how to make it so you can jazz up your page with one as well! Then Mr. Linky was another story... well not really, that's all pretty easy! In any case, it's all done and I'm ecstatic about it. Here comes the hard part, finding people to join in, so please spread the word far and wide. Grab that button, shnazz up your blog.

Next bit O newz, yesterdays FB (featured blogger) was one of my Fave blogs ever!!!! I read it on the Daily, and totally did a double take when I saw my chica Jessica's bloggy listed as FB! I've known Jessica for like 15 years or something and still have a framed picture of her in my house:D I bet you didn't know that did ya, Jess? I highly recommend this blog... amazing!

On to a RANDOM bit O fabulous newz, this one has a back story. My sister has always made fun of me for gagging when I brush my teeth. She told me to never let the man that I marry hear me brush my teeth before I marry him, or he'll run for the hills in udder disgust. Well, not only did the man who I will someday marry hear me brush my teeth and totally gag before we were obviously married (since this hasn't happened yet,) But he toooooo gags a lil when he brushes his teeth. So each morning, at our double vanity it's a race to see who gags first. And of course... my bit of good newz is that I didn't gag at all this morning while brushing my teeth which is just divine!

As an update from last week, we got to see the new Harry Potter and loved it! We are currently reading the 7th book, which I have already read and Whit is new to. He is loving it so far and so am I. So join the fun and tell us what tiny joys make YOUR world go round.

Writer's Workshop: My Big Launch!

As part of Writer's Workshop I have taken the opportunity to post about my big launch, which is happening tomorrow! I am totally stoked about it. Mama Kat couldn't have been more inspired to pick this topic, if even just for me!

I won a giveaway!!!!!!! That's right, me! I won a giveaway! Thanks to the lovely gals over at Little Birdie Secrets for having the Plaid giveaway, so that I could score hard core! This really got me thinking! I wanted to share my good news with everyone, and I think I want to launch my OWN dealy ma bop that you can join in and share in called "Fab Friday Newz" If you think that this is something you would like to share in, give me some feedback! Come on, throw it at me! I am going to create my very own Mr. Linky and Button, and I will have it launched by next week.

I hope you will all join in. Share whatever is on your mind! Perhaps you didn't have to wait in line at the grocery store and it totally rocked your world! I have no idea what makes your lips curl, but as for me... this very day, my handsome boyfriend and I are finally going to go see the new Harry Potter. This is something I have been waiting to do, and am ever sooo excited about. It makes me HAPPY. I truly think that appreciating the simple joys in life can make all the difference. If we take the time to recognize them, we might be surprised how much we look forward to getting out of bed, rather than dreading it! Okay, I will get off my soap box.
