It's pretty bitter out there! Honestly it's been pretty mild until today. It's 29 degrees outside which I am sure is warm compared to some but it was just 50 degrees yesterday. You know what this calls for?
Hot Cocoa, and I'm lovin every second of it. I'd love a salted caramel hot chocolate from starbucks, but I can't see spending money on it. I miss starbucks, probably one of the funnest jobs I have ever had! How cold is it in your neck of the woods?

Mommas in town
I know I haven't posted in a while. I've been trying to deal with my foot, and depression caused by said foot. Most things in my life have been put on hold. It's been kinda crazy and not fun at all. I wish I could go back in time and just not fall down the stairs. I wonder what I would be doing right now if I hadn't broke my foot. What all could I have accomplished in the past 6 weeks? I can't imagine the next 4.5 mos, it's depressing to think about. I know I sound totally negative right now, but I am allowed to do that every now and then. I stay pretty positive most of the time, so a slip here and there is allowed. :) Truly, I am so grateful that my injury wasn't worse. And I am so thankful for the help I've received.
On to amazing things... my mom is in town and I love that lady. She is so fun. I am hoping to get to spend a little time with her alone. That is if everyone leaves her alone. I can't help that my mom is so much fun and every time she comes to town I have to fight for her attention. It's not really like that, but truly all these people wanna see her, and shes not even here for a week. I haven't taken any pics yet. I better get on that and post a few.
An update on my foot. It still hurts, but it's doing much better. I have a follow up appt in a week from wed. I hope I get some kind of good news, but I am not counting on it. I still have quite a bit of numbness in my toes. The swelling has gone way down, and the incision looks a lot better. I just want to walk again!!!! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I will try to do better!

Product Review... of sorts!
I've been sick off and on for several years with an illness that left the Dr.'s stumped. At my lowest points I wasn't even able to leave my bed. Some days were better than others, but my lack of energy left me feeling worthless and embarrassed. I lost my job, I lost my scholarship for school, and I pretty much lost my life. My mother told me about this product; Aloe Pearl. She wasn't sure what it could do for me, and wasn't making any guarantees, but figured it couldn't hurt! So I tried it with some skepticism and was amazed at the difference it made in my energy level. I've been taking Aloe Pearl for about two months now. I take it in the morning and at night, but if I forget I notice a dramatic difference in my overall performance. I notice my thoughts aren't as focused, I'm more sluggish, and I just lack that extra uumph I get when I do take the Aloe Pearl. I am so glad that I was introduced to such a healthy, life changing product because I've gotten my life back.
I also use other products of theirs and they are alll amazing! If you want to check out their site, please visit them at www.dandyday.com

Real Houswives New York
Okay, so does anyone watch Real Housewives New York? And did anyone watch last nights episode???? I am like over the top pissed at Kelly. She is soooooo out of control, crazy, psychotic. She is completely deranged, and it drives me nuts. First off, what did Bethenny do? I LOVE her! Jill has gone crazy this season, and made friends with LuAnn who is also a little nuts. Apparently there is this whole new crazy side of Jill that I never saw before. I hate that she and Bethenny aren't friends anymore, but seeing her this season... I think it's all for the better.
But back to the whole Kelly thing... WHAT was she TALKING ABOUT????? Thinking Bethenney had tried to kill her? LOL she is just bonkers. She is a bully, a hypocrite and I've never had such a response from watching someone on tv. It's her whole crazy making techniques and talking over people that leads me to believe if I was ever left alone with her I would wish I was in a mental institution instead. Why did she even go on that trip? She stated that it wasn't her style to talk badly about people, but then that's all she did the WHOLE time she was there. Hence my statement about being a hypocrite. And calling Bethenny creepy for going on the trip right after her dad died? WHAT? She kept claiming to be normal, but even her new found best friends, Jill and LuAnn couldn't make any sense of her. Thoughts? Feelings?

Flowers- update!
Please help me understand why when my day off rolls around I can't just relax? This was totally fun, but we were beat when we were done! So remember a few weeks ago when I posted about the new flowers we had planted? Well we checked with our landlord before to make sure it was okay, and he said it was fine, and even told us where to plant them. Well the frickin lanscaper retards mowed AND weed whacked over them, so we called and let the land lord know. He came over and told us that we needed to MOVE all the flowers that he told us where to plant. WHATEV! So we got everything we needed, and moved the puppies over into two beds. Here is all our hard work. We still have yet to do the back yard!
This one is just in front of our door
And this one is just to the side of the front door.
I know this one is blurry. Sorry!
Love it!
I can't wait til they are all in full bloom!

Incognito
Hey everyone! I know I've been missing AGAIN! I've been so busy trying to get things in my life organized again now that I am feeling a little better. We've been catching up on Blog Designs, and since the weather has been nicer, we've been spending time outside too. LOVE THAT! In any case... I guest posted at one of my favorite blogs ever today!

Actually this blog was my inspiration for really making something of my blog. Well, other than something just my family and friends could read. It probably sounds so stupid, but I had no idea there was this whole world out here just waiting with friends to be made! I had no idea how therapeutic it would/ could be, and I never would have dreamed that I would be making money this way. I've found a really love for blogs and an even greater love for blog design!
So, if you want to take a look at the blogging tips I gave over at Or So She Says... please head on over. Leave a comment. They seriously have an amazing blog. They have guest posters every Sunday. They talk about real life situations with a sense of humor. I love those ladies!

How To Make Nutty Orange Coffee Cake
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 teaspoons orange zest
2 (12-ounce) cans refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (10 count)
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 teaspoons orange zest
2 (12-ounce) cans refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (10 count)
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, pecans, and zest; set aside. Separate the biscuits. Place about 3/4 teaspoon cream cheese in the center of each biscuit. Fold each biscuit in half over the cheese, pressing the edges to seal. Dip the biscuits in melted butter, then dredge in the granulated sugar mixture. Place the biscuits, curved-side down, in a single layer in the hollows of a lightly greased 12-cup bundt pan, spacing them evenly (do not stack). Place any remaining biscuits around the tube, filling any gaps. Drizzle any remaining butter over the biscuits, and sprinkle with any remaining sugar mixture. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until golden brown. Immediately invert the cake onto a serving platter. Combine the confectioners' sugar and orange juice, stirring well; drizzle the glaze over the warm cake. Serve warm.

More Hairstyles
Okay, an update on haircuts. I am thinking about getting it cut today. Here are the photos I am going to take with me. Based on length and texture of my hair, I want them to have a few to chose from. The last thing I want is a cut that doesn't work for my hair! I am going to post these in order of my like-ness to them (least to most!)
Okay so we already know this one, I love it... but I think I reallllly want the side swept bangs!

Kinda fun right?

That looks a little better

I love this one, but my hair isn't quite this long

This one is the winner! I love love LOVE it!

It's time for a change!
I want a new hair cut. Nothing drastic at all. Something flattering for my plump little face, so I am thinking something like this...
My hair isn't quite this long, but almost, and oddly enough my face shape is so similar to this that I think it's a win. I am seriously considering a side swept bang, but everytime I do a bang, I regret it cause it's always get's in my face and drives me batty. Anyway, thoughts? Comments? HELP?

Holiday Traditions!
Christmas Christmas time is here, Time for love... time for cheer! I am totally stoked about Christmas! I can hardly wait. Christmas is by FAAAAR my fave holiday. I love it because of all the music and the cheer and the good deeds and the over all sentiment. Traditions for me include decorating a tree, Christmas carols/ music non stop. As a kid we used to go caroling. Now we make candy... pecan logs, turtles, chocolate covered cherries, and personal fave- Divinity! Tastes like heaven! Whit and I started a new tradition, making a gingerbread house. So excited for that. We are running behind schedule this year. I am embarrassed to even admit it actually, usually the tree goes up the day after Thanksgiving if not the day of! It's time to whip into shape, I and I declare today the day.
Since my father passed away, I have made it a point to spend Christmas with my mother and sister in Denver. My sis has 4 gorgeous children, two of which have birthdays surrounding Christmas. So it's nice to make the trip. We usually make tamales, and watch a new Christmas movie that comes out in theaters. We get together with family in Denver, and have a party. For Dinner we fry a turkey, sooooooooooooo yum! I leave in less than two weeks, and I can't wait. What are your holiday traditions?
I nabbed this idea from In Joy and Sorrow Don't forget to enter her yummy giveaway!

Let's talk: New Moon!
So as mentioned before, Whit and I went to go see New Moon for our One Year Anni! Love it! Sorry it's taken this many days to post. Just my world turned crazy... in the happiest sort of way of course! Yeah, so we both loved it. I was much more pleased with this movie than the first. That's not to say that I didn't like the first, there were just things that I had hoped would be better. The effects in this one were amazing! I am going to attempt to do this without a "spoiler," wish me luck. The transformation of the quileute was frickin awesome. I thought that was like WHOA. While reading the book I always tried to imagine in my head what it would be like, and I think they did pretty good.
Volturi- NOT so pleased. Why did they not talk more about the Volturi? It just seemed so rushed, and the characters of Caius and Aro and Marcus were so vaguely touched on. I mean Cauis and Marcus had like 2 lines each. What were there powers? The Same with Jane and Felix. People who haven't read the books don't know, like my lovely Whit. So I spent time explaining things during the movie. I didn't want him to miss out. I felt like they did awesome capturing that sense of why Bella all the sudden has this thrill seeking side. It was cool. I expected a little more pain, as was described in the book that she experienced in the passing months.
All in all, I loved it. Whit loved it. And we will probably go see it again. I just thought it was kind of rushed. P.S. I love Alice, and Jessica's character was a frickin crack up. Have you seen it yet? What were your thoughts?

Halloween Traditions
I am participating this week in Steph in the City's group blog, and the topic is Halloween Traditions. For about as long as I can remember, I've LOVED scary movies. We used to go to the rental store and at the age of 5, 6,or 7 instead of picking out strawberry shortcake and whinnie the pooh, I was picking out poltergiest. I love it! Halloween is the one time of year we get an excuse to watch loads of hours of television non-stop... marathon form! I literally can't say I've watched t.v. since April of this year, so I think I'm due for a fest of blood and guts. Luckily my BF shares the same love for horror films as I do.

How To Make Creme Brulee French Toast
Head on over to All the Small Stuff for
This is also another steal from my sis! It's golden, and one of my FAVES! I beg her to make it nearly every time I visit, which is usually around Christmas... so it's usually on Christmas morning. Which works out nicely cause you do all the work the night before!
1/2 C Butter
1 C Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp Corn Syrup
1 Loaf Texas Toast
5 Eggs
1 1/2 C Half & Half
1/4 tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla
Syrup Butter
1 1/2 C Butter
3 C Maple Syrup
Melt together and serve over toast. (This is done in the morning)
In a small saucepan melt butter, sugar, and corn syrup over medium heat until melted. Pour mix into greased cookie sheet. Spread to cover entire surface. Place 12 slices of bread over pan (sometimes it takes a little squishing.) Mix eggs, cream, salt, and vanilla. Spoon mixture over each slice of bread. Cover and refrigerate over night. Bake uncovered @ 350 for 30min. Remove from pan and serve.
I'm just going to add once again... delish!!!! Far from healthy, but Delish!

My Love of Fall
This is totally off the wall and that's okay by me, because that is who I am. I am curious to know more about my readers. What things do you think of at this time of year? I am always reminded of picnics and the return of fall. The wish of that certain dampness and almost musty smell that is Fall.
Whit and I were out taking our lil Miss for a walk and he mentioned the leaves changing. This is one of my favorite parts of fall. I love every season, or all different reasons. So share, what do you think of at this time of year?
