TV Obsessions

I wanna write a post, but nothing much is going on.  I leave in one week for Denver.  I am really excited.  From Denver, mom, the sis and kids, and I are all heading up to a family reunion in UT.  It's going to be at bear lake... which I haven't been to in YEARS.  I mean like since I was a little kid.  In fact I haven't been back to UT since my father passed away in 2004.  I sure miss him.  This reunion is for my fathers side, and he loved these things.  That is one thing that my father and mother have engrained in me... a strong love for family.  I know that this reunion is going to be a blast. I  love my family, on both sides.

Other than that, nothing much is going on.  I came home from work today and Whitney had straightened up the house!  LOVE THAT!  Whit is at work right now, I miss him.  Oh here we go, my new TV obsession is "The Voice!"  It's so good.  I feel like a lot of the singers are truly amazing!  I can't wait to hear more of the performers next week.  My other TV obsession is "So you think you can Dance!"  I remember when the show first came on.  I was hooked from the beginning.  I haven't seen every season.  Didn't have cable some of the time, working the other.  But it's an amazing show.  What are you watching these days?

Funny words

I was thinking the other day about weird words.  How we don't pronounce things like they are spelled.
February... we say FebUary
Syrup... we say sUrup (well I don't but everyone else does)
Milk... some people say mElk
Groceries... we say GroSHUries

The other day I had so many more words, but of course now that I am writing this blog post I can't think of any.  So help me out. What other words have you noticed that we pronounce differently than they are spelled?

Is anybody out there?

I went on vacation for a while, and when I came back I realized that I haven't had any comments for a while.  I understand not leaving a comment when I read a blog post.  Sometimes I have nothing to say.  I just wonder if anyone is reading.  So if you are out there at least say hello, so I know I'm not all alone in the blogosphere.

Follow Me Back Tuesday

Photobucket

Okay, so today I am participating in FMBT, which sounds like super fun.  I've met so many cool new Bloggers recently and come across so many fun blogs!  This has brought to light some questions that I would love answers to, if you feel like sharing leave a comment!

1. I wonder, how do you all decide on a blog that you like?  What is a definite no?  What is a heck yes?
I love funny and real.  A cute design is a definite plus.  A definite no... If I can't navigate it or if it's tooo crazy and distracting.

2.  Have you met any Bloggy friends in real life?
Not yet :(  But I have a few that I really wanna meet someday!!!!

3. What is the most annoying thing that a Blogger can do, in your opinion?
Not making the followers widget obvious or easily visible.  I hate having to look for like eighty hours just to be able to follow a blog.  If I like it, I wanna follow... and that should be easy!

Well that's it for me, If you wanna play along please leave a comment. Or if you wanna join FMBT link up

More Hairstyles

Okay, an update on haircuts.  I am thinking about getting it cut today.  Here are the photos I am going to take with me.  Based on length and texture of my hair, I want them to have a few to chose from.  The last thing I want is a cut that doesn't work for my hair!   I am going to post these in order of my like-ness to them (least to most!)
Okay so we already know this one, I love it... but I think I reallllly want the side swept bangs!

Kinda fun right?

That looks a little better

I love this one, but my hair isn't quite this long

This one is the winner!  I love  love LOVE it!

My Love of Fall

This is totally off the wall and that's okay by me, because that is who I am. I am curious to know more about my readers. What things do you think of at this time of year? I am always reminded of picnics and the return of fall. The wish of that certain dampness and almost musty smell that is Fall.
Whit and I were out taking our lil Miss for a walk and he mentioned the leaves changing. This is one of my favorite parts of fall. I love every season, or all different reasons. So share, what do you think of at this time of year?

My New Blog Design!

Okay, so I have been out on a secret prowl for a while now to swoop up a new blog design. I've checked a few out here and there, but none really tickled my fancy! I mean I liked several, but I wasn't over the moon about any of them. When I was over at Mama Kats today to find out that I had lost the Bloggy makeover giveaway, (SAD DAY) I noticed that she had posted a link that I just had to check out. I rushed over and picked out this fab new free layout! Thanks Mama Kat, and thanks to the girls at the The Cutest Blog on the Block!
They've got all sorts of fun stuff and designs and matching banners, and the best part is... it's all free! They've got all kinds of jive, so if your blog needs primping, check them out. The "blinkies" section is fab! I would love to know what you think of the new layout! Your comments, thoughts... do you like it? Did you like the old one better? Do you have any suggestions?

How To Make Hawaiian Haystacks!

This is one of my favorite recipes and I made it for dinner last night. I got it from my sister, but my mother swears up and down that it is my aunts recipe. Oddly enough I saw it on someone else's blog not too long ago, with different ingredients. Just thought I would post it the way I learned it.
Hawaiian Haystacks
You will need
Gravy
4 Chicken Breast
2 Tbsp Chicken Bouillon Granules (This isn't necessary, but it sure enriches the flavor)
1 Family size can Cream of Chicken Soup
1 8oz can Cream of Chicken Soup
2 Tbsp Milk (I use soy milk)

Toppings
Pineapple Tidbits
Sliced Olives
Shredded Colby Jack
Tomatoes
Green Onions
Chow Mien Noodles (the la choy ones)

Rice
4 Cups Rice
8 Cups Water
2 Tsp Salt
4 Tbsp Butter

Any toppings my be added or subtracted per pickyness ;) I personally like mine with just cheese loads of pineapple, a few olives, some cheese, and the chow mein noodles! I am the queen of picky, which is why I love this dish!

I start the rice before anything because it takes the rice 15 minutes to cook, this is the longest of anything! Add all the rice jive in the pot and let it come to a boil. As soon as it boils, pop a lid on top, turn it down to a simmer and set your timer for 15 Minutes. P.S. don't take that lid off until the timer goes off, this is how rice gets ruined:(
Now head on over to your cutting board, we've gotta chunk that chicken. I cube it up into bite size pieces. I like to get a little bit of everything in each bite, so I don't like BIG chunks of chicken or else I can't fit the pineapple and all the other goodness in my mouth too! I cut it long wise first, the just run it the other way. I toss it in the pan, and it's amazing how quickly chicken cooks up when it's all in tiny pieces like that. Seriously it should take no longer than 5 minutes! Sprinkle in your bouillon granules, along with the soup and milk. Allow that to warm through and turn your burner down to warm until your rice is done. Now you can focus on your toppings. Chop up your tomatoes, or green onions, open your cans... and it's as easy as that. It will all be done before your rice timer has even gone off!
Now it's time to layer! Lay out your bed of rice, slather some gravy on that baby. Add your toppings however you like. I always put the cheese first so that is melts and the noodles last so that they are all crunchy and don't get soggy. Dig in! You'll be shocked when you taste it, and think that it all came together in just fifteen minutes. Now if only the dishes would take care of themselves! I hope you enjoy! If you try this out, come back and let me know what you think of it, or if have already had it... please share what other toppings you have had that jazz up your Hawaiian Haystacks!

Off to a late start!

Okay, so I know that I am farrrrrr behind all the rest of you in the blogosphere today when it comes to posting, but I just didn't wanna! Does that sound bratty enough? No seriously, I had about 6 bajillion things to do and all in 45 different directions! I thought my head was just gonna spin right on off! P.S. whats with that expression? Right on off? I use it all the time, but jut checking! Anyway, in order to keep me going on a day like this there are things that I need. Most of them are in order on a daily basis, but just a necessity in such a disastrous occasion as this!
1. Hugs, Cuddles, and Kisses from my Strong Man
2. Adequate Sleep thanks to ear plugs!!!! One of my fave things! Try this... AMAZING
3. Breakfast
4. Quiet/Meditation time
5. My secret "get you going juice!" Emergen-C flavored fizzy drink mix. It's a super yum energy Booster that's loaded with Vitamins, Nutrients, and Antioxidants! They have a variety of delish flavors, but I favor the raspberry, as that is my favorite flavor in the world!
There are citrus flavors, to berries, to even Acai. I hope you will check this out. Every time I get a sore throat I down a little extra of this, and it seems I'm home free!
I'm curious... what things must you do on a daily basis? Or what secrets can you share with me to help me have an even better day?
