Positive Affirmations

Whit and I went to Barnes and Noble the other day.  He got a book written by his favorite internet marketer (and one of the worlds most well known interent marketers), Ewen Chia.  He got me a book too.  I chose "Making the Cut" by Jillian Michaels.  Yeah, the chick from the biggest loser.  I have been really inspired by that show recently and I was doing things on my own to try and lose weight.  I Had posted on facebook that I had lost 6 lbs in 2 days and quite a few people let me know that I wasn't eating enough calories, that my body was in starvation mode.  I started thinking that I needed a health manual of some kind to help me on my journey, so this book seemed like the perfect fit.

Whit and I have also been reading "The Secret" which is all about the law of attraction.  We have been reading it together.  Before Whit started his new book, he figured he better finish the one he had been reading.  It's all about creative visualization.  The law of attraction is closely related to creative visualization.  The idea or concept is that we bring into our lives what we really want.  One is through our thoughts, and the other through visualizing what we want and willing it into existence.

My new book, "Making the Cut," has inspirational blurbs and information on how to really change your life.  A lot of the information I read coincided with what Whit was reading in his book and what we were both reading in "The Secret."  We figured this had to be a sign.  We decided to make a "vision board."  We looked through magazines for things that we want.  His side focused more on financial success, and my side focused more on health.  We put only positive words or pictures up.  No negativity.  We look and it everyday and know that the more positive our thoughts are the more likely we are to have success at the things we want.

I have know about positive affirmations for a long time.  Ya know, writing down little things to help us improve our self-esteem or our life in general?  The idea is that you write things down as if they have already happened.  Instead of saying "I want to be healthy," you say "I am healthy."  You write these things down and read them to yourselves everyday.  It will change your self talk and therefore change your behaviors therefore changing the things you bring into your life.  We bought some post it notes and I have been writing positive affirmations and sticking them around the house.  I am sure it would look strange to anyone else, but I really feel it is helping.

I am LOVING biggest loser right now too. Such a good season. It is really inspiring. You'll have to tell me how the book goes. After this baby joins us I want to get back to healthier eating and more exercise. And I want to get Cody working on something too. Just to feel healthier, ya know? I want him to live forever. :) Like the post-it note idea too.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the books Baby. They are truly awesome, and all this is meant to happen right now.
