How To Make A Yogurt Parfait!

Wow I had no idea that my post yesterday was going to bring such a response! I actually got comments on my blog!!!! WOOO HOOO!!! Not only that, but people responded on my facebook wall, who I didn't even know were reading my blog! Thanks to all my readers for making me feel like my drab little life is worth sharing. ha ha! I mean really, we all just go on doing things day after day, not really thinking too much about what other people will think of it! I am just glad that so many people found my post yesterday to be such great news! It made me want to jump start a diet today. I laid in bed this morning thinking of what we had in the fridge and pantry that I could make that was super yummy and it came to me. Yogurt parfait! Here is what you will need...
These come in 4oz packs of four with several flavors, and in the light variety! This kind of yogurt helps to regulate your digestive tract. There are all sorts of brands, YoPlus is one, I actually just buy the "benefit, which is the Wal-mart brand cause it's cheaper! Just check them out when you are shopping.I only use half a banana for myself and the other half for Whit. We like them slightly green cause we like them a little tart!

I've always loved these since I was a little kid! They are delish!!!! There are two in a package, so once again, you will only need one of them per parfait! Sadly, you gotta smash em up at the same time or else you will have a mess on your hands, so I just grab a hammer and have at it! I guess if you have any pent up frustrations, this is the time to get it out. LOL.
Assembling the parfait is just like making a trifle. A little crumbled granola bar, then yogurt. ( if you are making more than one, it's fun to mix flavors) then banana, then granola, then yogurt (this would be where you would add another flavor!) then banana, then granola! YUMMY in my tummy! I always make them in chilled mugs! But for those of you who are far more fancy, a fun, chilled martini glass can jazz it up. Just picture this filled with a yummy parfait instead of whatever is in there... lets pretend it's kool-aid! Having your kids help with this idea for their breakfast is a super fun and healthy idea. This is super versatile too. You can use blueberries, or strawberries, or raspberries, or peaches! Whatever you like! Oh and they freeze really well as a super healthy substitute for ice cream! (but I would probably add the granola afterwards, so it stays crunchy!)

You can buy plain granola- It's healthier. They put lots of sugar in those bars to make them sweeter and to hold them in bar form. Go to the cereal aisle and you'll find granola in a box. That's what we put on our yogurt.
