Spring!

I love it.  The weather is changing.  We are expected to have a few cold fronts, but I think the warmer weather is here to stay.  We've been spending a little time outside.  Going on walks with the pup and whatnot.  I got some fresh fruit from my cousin.  Pineapple, watermelon, and honeydew.  Super yumm!  I love fruit.  I pretty well hate veggies, so I need to eat something healthy.  It's hard to diet when you hate veggies.  I've been forcing myself to eat some.  The ones I can handle without puking. 

I was so excited to read the second book in the Hunger Games series (Catching Fire), but I have been so busy.  Plus I've been indulging in a few evening television shows.  Biggest Loser, The Voice, American Idol, Law and Order SVU, American Idol results show (still so upset that Casey Abrams went home), and The Office.  I am going to do some cleaning today, some pretty heave cleaning, so I hope I get to get into this book.  I had planned to be done with it by Sunday evening, but that's just not possible.  I can't read that fast.  LOL!  I hope you all are having a great weekend.  I know mine is going to be great!

The little things!

I used to have a meme (blog hop) called Fab Friday Newz, which was all about the simple things in life that bring us joy.  I haven't done a Fab Friday Newz post in about a year, but today I wanted to share a smiple joy with you.  For the first time in 5 months I got to have a shower.  It's not like I didn't shower for 5 months, LOL!  I just had to sit down.  Do you know how hard that really is???  I mean not the sitting part, but showering while you are sitting?  It's trickier than one might think.  Back to the subject at hand, today I had a real standup shower.  My foot was killing me by the end, but I made it and it was fabulous.

In the spirit of Fab Friday Newz I will share another fun tidbit with you.  The roads here got kind of icy, so I don't have to work until tomorrow.  That is exciting!   A little thing that made me oh so excited!  My boss is super understanding about bad weather.  I work about a half an hour away and anytime the weather channel predicts some sort of icy/snowy conditions we push work off a day.

Another fun thing... I got some awesome new perfume called Koi.  It's from the tattooed line by inky.  It was a steal!  I also got some new PJs for super cheap and a pair of jeans for next to nothing.  I love bargain shopping and finding great stuff for little money.  I've been sporting the perfume everyday since.  I am not one to wear perfume everyday, but it sure makes me feel feminine and pretty.  Funny how something so little can do so much.

Thats right, I went and got a hair cut today, and am in the process of dying it right now!  I will be sure to post pics later.  I haven't colored my hair in over a year so this is pretty exciting.  I went through a time in my life where I died my hair all the time.  Heck, the wind blew and it was cause for hair-doo celebration.  I've dyed my hair this color before, but not for like 9 years or so.  It's a fun dark purple.  Love when the light hits it and you see the purple, otherwise it looks more brown than anything else.  So what about you?  Any makeovers recently?  Do you dye your hair?

Momma went home

Okay so I know I haven't been posting very much lately.  Let me just give an update.  Mom went home on the 14th of this month.  It was a short, but good, trip!  I love that lady.  She brings so much joy and humor to my life.  It was really nice having her here.  Reminded me of when I was little and would get sick, and momma was always there. 

So yeah, went to the Dr this last week on Wednesday and he told me that I have another 6 weeks without any pressure.  He said the Xrays looks good and that the incision is healing well.  He told me that I need to be using my walker more, so I've been doing that.  I also have been trying to do some leg exercises as I've noticed that my muscle is wearing away from lack of use.  My foot doesn't hurt as much now, mainly only where the incision was. 

It's getting cooler here, and I love it.  Just put the big blanket on the bed today.  I love sleeping under a heavy comforter when it's cold outside.  Love the chill in the air at night and feeling all toasty in my bed.  I keep waiting for October, and the feel of Halloween.  I might put up some decorations and what not.  We will see.  I honestly already feel all Halloweeny.  I did a post last year about my Halloween Traditions and I can't wait for another scary movie marathon.  I made my famous Ummm Yumm Taco Soup on Thursday.  It was soooo good.  I'll try to do better with my posting.

Foot Pic and Progress

I went to the Dr this last week and they took a look at my foot.  They said it looked great, told me it was one of the best jobs they had ever seen and that the surgery had gone extremely well.  I took one look at my foot, and said... it looks disgusting!

They took the stitches out and gave me a boot.  They told me I will be on crutches for the next 10.5 weeks and then still in the boot for another 3 mos after that.  ICK!  I just wanna walk again.  I'm happy to have the boot now because I can at least take it off and shower a lot easier!

I'm not dead

Seriously, right now I can't think of anything to write about.  I've been on this kick for a few days.  I guess I could give an update on my foot.  I got off those pain meds, and what a difference.  I can actually function again.  Of course I have a lot more pain, but it's worth it to not sleep ALLLLLLLL the time, and I have been.  Well before I got off the percocet.  Now I am back on vicodin and I try not to take them all the time.  I have always feared becoming addicted to any drug in any way shape or form.  Needless to say, my foot hurts quite a bit, but not unbearably.  I've been doing a little blog designing, so at least my mind is functioning well enough not to screw some stuff up.  LOL  I am sorry that I am at a loss for words, just thought I would update ya'll.

Surgery Update

Alright so I was supposed to have surgery on Monday, but basically they called me and said they were going to move it up to tomorrow.  I am actually kind of happy about this sudden news because the more time I have to stew over the surgery the more scared and upset I get.  Since I have less than 24 hours, I probably won't get all worked up over it.  I had to work today and that wore me out!  I am sooo tired and just want to take a nap, plus the good ole pain killers - vicodin - are working hard core and keeping me from waiting to hurt everything. 

So I snapped a few shots of my leg all jazzed up, and here they are.  I wish I had a pic of the x-ray.  I will take more pics after the surge to keep you all updated.  5:30 comes early.

Okay so I forgot to take my pills last night, which I am supposed to take every 6 hours, and I woke up in some serious pain!!!!  I couldn't sleep and my foot was throbbing. I popped a pill and now I feel totally drugged!!!!  It's kinda hard to function like this.  I will try to write another post later.  Thanks for checking up on me, and all the kind comments!  I love my bloggy friends!

Another trial!

I broke my foot today!  Yep, just broke it!!!  I am so upset and in so much pain.  How do people with only one leg ever do anything????  I was told that I have to have surgery on Monday and if I don't stay off my foot and keep it elevated they won't be able to do it.   Not to mention that I am supposed to be leaving next week to go on vacation.  I am not sure if I will be able to go or not and that is super upsetting.  I've been looking forward to this for a while now! I'll take some pictures and blog it or whatever.  I'm so irritated with the whole situation!
