Spring!

I love it.  The weather is changing.  We are expected to have a few cold fronts, but I think the warmer weather is here to stay.  We've been spending a little time outside.  Going on walks with the pup and whatnot.  I got some fresh fruit from my cousin.  Pineapple, watermelon, and honeydew.  Super yumm!  I love fruit.  I pretty well hate veggies, so I need to eat something healthy.  It's hard to diet when you hate veggies.  I've been forcing myself to eat some.  The ones I can handle without puking.

I was so excited to read the second book in the Hunger Games series (Catching Fire), but I have been so busy.  Plus I've been indulging in a few evening television shows.  Biggest Loser, The Voice, American Idol, Law and Order SVU, American Idol results show (still so upset that Casey Abrams went home), and The Office.  I am going to do some cleaning today, some pretty heave cleaning, so I hope I get to get into this book.  I had planned to be done with it by Sunday evening, but that's just not possible.  I can't read that fast.  LOL!  I hope you all are having a great weekend.  I know mine is going to be great!

Positive Affirmations

Whit and I went to Barnes and Noble the other day.  He got a book written by his favorite internet marketer (and one of the worlds most well known interent marketers), Ewen Chia.  He got me a book too.  I chose "Making the Cut" by Jillian Michaels.  Yeah, the chick from the biggest loser.  I have been really inspired by that show recently and I was doing things on my own to try and lose weight.  I Had posted on facebook that I had lost 6 lbs in 2 days and quite a few people let me know that I wasn't eating enough calories, that my body was in starvation mode.  I started thinking that I needed a health manual of some kind to help me on my journey, so this book seemed like the perfect fit.

Whit and I have also been reading "The Secret" which is all about the law of attraction.  We have been reading it together.  Before Whit started his new book, he figured he better finish the one he had been reading.  It's all about creative visualization.  The law of attraction is closely related to creative visualization.  The idea or concept is that we bring into our lives what we really want.  One is through our thoughts, and the other through visualizing what we want and willing it into existence.

My new book, "Making the Cut," has inspirational blurbs and information on how to really change your life.  A lot of the information I read coincided with what Whit was reading in his book and what we were both reading in "The Secret."  We figured this had to be a sign.  We decided to make a "vision board."  We looked through magazines for things that we want.  His side focused more on financial success, and my side focused more on health.  We put only positive words or pictures up.  No negativity.  We look and it everyday and know that the more positive our thoughts are the more likely we are to have success at the things we want.

I have know about positive affirmations for a long time.  Ya know, writing down little things to help us improve our self-esteem or our life in general?  The idea is that you write things down as if they have already happened.  Instead of saying "I want to be healthy," you say "I am healthy."  You write these things down and read them to yourselves everyday.  It will change your self talk and therefore change your behaviors therefore changing the things you bring into your life.  We bought some post it notes and I have been writing positive affirmations and sticking them around the house.  I am sure it would look strange to anyone else, but I really feel it is helping.

A real post!

I don't have anything going on really to write a real post, which is why i haven't.  Whitney and I went out to dinner with my Grandpa and aunts and uncles last night.  It was a lot of fun.  Today I went over and did some cleaning for my grandpa.  I also got to visit with my Aunt Mary which was fun.  I love her and her family.  Her kids are totally crazy and I love them.  We got a few blog design orders, so that was nice.  I've been working on a fun design all day and am still not done.  It's kind of a big order.  I can't wait to get our first Wordpress order.  I was stuck on a few things, but I tinkered around until I figured it out.  It's so fun to blog design.  The weather here has been gorgeous lately.  Whitney and I were hoping that it will stay in the 70s until Spring, but they are calling for snow on Monday.  Oh well, it's been nice to sit on the back porch and soak up the sun.  So what have you all been up to?

New Job - Report & Spring Fling giveaway reminder!!!!!

I just thought I would write a post after my first day at the new job, and report back!  The first three hours I was just filling out all the fun normal new-hire paperwork.  Gotta love it!  As well as reading all the spicy company policy jive!  So exhilarating, ya know :)  Then I got to go over some numbers and do a lil hands on stuff just before lunch.  I really think I am going to like this job!!!  It's fun working with my manager (and former co-worker) again.  We had kind of lost touch for a while, so we played a tad bit of catch up yesterday.

Honestly, I was really nervous yesterday morning.  I wasn't feeling super confident in my retention capabilities.  It's been a while since I've had to learn a new position especially a desk job.  I'm just glad it's not high stress, and not all sit down either.  It's a good pace for me, well I think at this point.  It's probably not best to make assumptions from my first day, BUT I am!!!!!

This is my first report on the new job situation.  Whit came and met me for lunch which was really nice.  My other job is in another town, so he can't really do that!  It was refreshing to have a scheduled lunch break, LOL!  I'll report again after a while.

Also a reminder that the spring fling giveaway is going on every hour (starting at 5:00am CST) SITSgirls, Skip to My Lou, Today’s Creative Blog, and Tip Junkie!  Be sure to check out the prizes!  If you are interested in a free blog design by Bloggy Blog Designz, be sure to stop by Tip Junkie at 6:00 pm CST to enter.  I don't have times for the other blogs, but we are offering free giveaways on EACH of the other blogs too!!!!  Enter them alllllllll!

My weekend

This weekend was a lot of fun because Whit and I spent time with our kids pets outside, enjoying the beautiful weather.  Doing some of this

Planting some of these

And these

And these

We planted more flowers, which haven't bloomed yet, but I will post more pics when the garden really gets going.  Growing up we always had a gorgeous yard.  It brought back loads of memories... going to strawberry hill farms and picking out all kinds of beautiful flowers, and spending the day planting them with mom and dad.  Whitney's dad was an arborist, and his Grandmother was given an award in our city for having the most beautiful yard.  Being that we both have such strong ties to gardening, it was really fun to plant flowers this weekend.  I can't wait to see them in full bloom!
