Auto Insurance, and How it Got the Best of Me

This is my first time participating in a Manic Monday blog hop and I think we all deserve a chance to vent. Okay, so I know that this is horrible and totally my own fault, but a little over a year ago I got caught driving without any car insurance. As punishment for my actions I received notification that the department of motor vehicles would be tracking my insurance records to ensure that I maintain automobile insurance for the next three years. I assume this is because some people get insurance just long enough for court, then drop it. It's not so much about having the auto insurance, I'm totally all for that! In fact, I wasn't really aware that it had lapsed before and that I was not covered. It's the whole being monitored thing. So, I made a few changes... and now I have a automatic monthly reminder as the cash is withdrawn from my account that I am being watched. Grrrr... It's just another Manic Monday. Gosh, this could happen to anyone. I didn't know that they monitored your insurance after. Hope it doesn't last long for you :)

Eeek! Well, that sucks for honest people like you, but having been hit by an uninsured motorist, I wish my state would do that. From what I understand, they just require you show up at court here and prove you have it. Then people drop it the next month. When I was hit, I ended up having to cover the damage to my vehicle for an accident that wasn't my fault...and of course my insurance rates increased.
